Our guinea hens seem to know that spring is right around the corner, and some days when they get let out of the coop/run they are in rare form. Half the time they are making a racket and we have no idea why. It’s especially fun when they get up in the trees and start carrying on. Sometimes I think they’re squawking at the cold, or at the snow on the ground (they get up in the trees to avoid walking in it), and sometimes I think they just like to listen to themselves! Either way, they provide endless entertainment, and keep us on our toes. On occasion, there really is an intruder in the yard that we need to know about! Nothing gets by this crazy crew. As you watch the short video below, pay attention to the different vocalizations they make. You will hear the two-tone of our two female hens mixed in with the random squawking.
Here are some of the other antics they’ve been up to:
I wonder if this is Harry Who looking for his cellar window, which is behind that snow bank?
We hope you have a weekend full of free entertainment as well! 🙂
