We can’t believe our cat Samantha is 16 years old!
We are so happy that our senior lady has been doing well. Even though she can challenge us with her appetite, Sam gets around great in spite of her partial blindness, high blood pressure, and hyperthyroidism. She still (mostly) takes her pills like a champ. For a cat who at one time raided a robin’s nest, Sam gets along surprisingly well with all of our birds. Now that we have the baby chicks in her upstairs room (stay tuned for a video coming soon), she sleeps up there every night on the little futon. When she goes on one of her supervised outdoor adventures, she likes to hang out with the guinea hens (and the chickens once they are free-ranging again).
Sam doesn’t want for a lot, since she doesn’t play with toys, but I started a new catnip plant for her so she can have one in her upstairs room as well. I think I need to give her some other plants too, but other than grass, does anyone know what would be good for her (the grass always comes right back up!)?
Happy, Happy Birthday, Sweet Samantha, we love you so much!
Love, the Momz, Dadz, Luke, & all of your flock!
