A couple of weeks ago I shared about Luke stealing a radish from the bunch I had picked from the garden (“How Do You Train Your Multiple Pets?”). At the time I didn’t know if it was safe for him to eat, so I made him give it up. I found out it was good for him, and now every time I come up from the garden with radishes, he has to have one (or two). He loves them, and I read that they can help clean his teeth! My hubby and I couldn’t get over the fact that he has figured out the quickest and easiest way to separate the radish from the leaves so he can eat it. I decided to take a short video (it’s just over a minute) showing his technique.
Radishes are a cool weather crop, so ours are running out (we’ll hopefully plant more in the fall though). Luckily the green bean plants are just popping up now, since those are another of his favorites. I also planted kale this year, which we’ll all be trying for the first time. I can’t get over how much this dog loves veggies! They are a great healthy, safe, and low calorie snack for him, so I’m thrilled that he does (if only his sisters would be less picky).
What unusual vegetables does your dog like to eat (if any)?
