The fun theme for this month’s Pet Treater subscription box is “Bark’ToberFest”. We’ve had different kind of celebrations going on for our Barktober, however. Even though we previously used a birthday theme for one of our past reviews – for Cricket’s birthday back in September – what was included in the Barktober box was just too good to pass up for Luke’s birthday.

Luke turned 3 yesterday, and by old dog aging formulas (1 human year = 7 dog years), that would make him 21! Even though we know the new formulas would make him around 30, I just had to have some fun with this.
Luke being 21 in dog years gives new meaning to the expression seen on wine glasses and t-shirts: “It’s not drinking alone if the dog is home”.
The Bowser Beer and bandana reading “Drinking Buddy” included in this month’s box gave me the perfect opportunity to sit down and have a drink with my now adult dog! BTW, Bowser Beer is Made in the USA, and the Pork Pug Porter flavor we received even contains glucosamine for healthy joints!
Meaty snacks from PetSafe’s Indigo line – Smokehouse Strips – were the perfect accompaniment for Luke’s birthday celebration! These treats are Made in the USA from premium cuts of meat, and contain no by-products. We received chicken and bacon flavors, and they were a HUGE hit with the crew! Also, look at the size of the beef knuckle from Nature’s Deli!
The other day I showed what I was working on for birthday treats for both Sheba and Luke’s celebrations this week. We had received a PuppyCake cheesecake mix in last month’s box, and I was saving it for their birthdays. It worked out perfectly that this month’s box had the Jack-O-Lantern silicone mold and matching spatula, so I made the cheesecakes right in there. Look how fun they came out, and the crew went nuts for them!
No party would be complete without fun and games, and the two toys included fit the bill. Both the Monsters Dog Toy and the stuffy bone with breast cancer awareness ribbon came from Bow-Wow Pet Products.
Alas, celebrations are soon over and all that’s left are the happy memories. Luckily we also received this great over the door Pet Organizer from PetStor. That’s a gift that will keep on giving, especially to one very disorganized Momz. Since we moved into our new home, I’ve been getting slowly organized, but I haven’t worked my way up to pet supplies yet. I think I have things scattered in 3-4 different locations, and I need help getting more organized! I look forward to finding the perfect spot for this and then loading up the 6 deep pockets.
Guess what? We are currently having a huge giveaway to celebrate Luke’s sister Sheba’s 12th birthday, and you can have a chance to win a Pet Treater box of your own, and we also have one of those organizers along with some other prizes to give away. Click here to check it out! Then be sure to come back on Monday when we’ll share more fun birthday celebration photos.
