I brought Samantha outside the other day to (hopefully) take some photos of our black cat next to the pumpkins for Halloween. You can see how that went:
I didn’t have her harness and leash on, but decided to let her adventure forth a little bit without them. Since she’s mostly blind, she plods around pretty slowly, so I wasn’t too worried that she would run off (but I kept a close eye on her). It hadn’t occurred to me that she hadn’t met the guinea hens yet, except for when they were in their cage. They are very curious birds, so they ran right over to check her out!
They were a bit unsure, and kept a close eye on her as she wandered around a bit. She didn’t really pay them much attention, but eventually started to head their way.
They were a bit more unsure at that point, and they kind of look like they’re debating what to do!
They kept their distance but didn’t run away (and they pretty much do the same thing with us, so I told Sam not to take it personally). I think she enjoyed meeting them, and she did also pose very nicely for some photos, even though she wasn’t actually right next to the pumpkins like I wanted!
