Sadly, the Wag ‘n Woof Feline Crew has all gone to the Rainbow Bridge now. Samantha left us on 4/25/19, and her brother Conrad went to the Bridge in May of 2015. Here are each of their stories, as they will always be remembered with love.
Samantha: Sam was born on June 1, 2002, to my brother’s cat. We adopted her and her sister Katie that summer (seen in the photo below). We were only supposed to be bringing one cat home, but we couldn’t choose! Sam is a sweetheart, though she’s always been a loner. She got along fine with our past cats and the dogs, but she prefers hiding away somewhere by herself (and switches up favorite spots from time to time). She has always been an indoor cat. In her younger days, she would sometimes escape outside and refuse to be caught, but she always came back in. She can be a fussy eater, but enjoys treats (cat or dog!) and writing for the blog with her sassy attitude! She has had some health issues due to her age: hyperthyroidism and hypertension, but she has fought through and is doing well on medication right now. You can read Sam’s whole story (written by herself) here.
Conrad, our “golden boy with the golden eyes”. We adopted Conrad from our local shelter in the spring of 1999, at about 1 year old. Conrad was shy and skittish, but when we picked him up to hold him at the shelter he snuggled right in, and that’s how we knew he was the right one. After two weeks under a bed, he got used to living with a dog even though he avoided her. He got along well with the other cats, especially our Katie – they were very close. He would hide when people came to the house, but was always loving with us. As he grew older, he stopped hiding, and enjoyed hanging out with everyone, even the dogs. He entertained us with his silly antics every day. Conrad was a beauty when he was younger as you can see in the photo below. You can read his whole story by clicking here.
