Ever since Luke told you about the wild turkeys hanging out in our yard with our guinea hens, I’ve been trying to get a photo of them all together! If the guineas see the turkeys down by our garden, they’ll often go down to join them. Sometimes when I’m looking for the guinea boys, I’ll look down there, see the turkeys, and then have to look a little harder to see the much shorter guineas down there in the weeds and brush too. It’s been difficult to get good photos because the turkeys are timid of me, so if I head towards them with the camera, they’ll run away. That’s what happened in the series of photos below, however, I think I got a couple of decent shots before they moved off. I wanted to illustrate the size difference in the birds and the first photo does show that pretty well.
There are some different groups of turkeys, one flock has well over a dozen birds in it. It does seem as if they’ve figured out that our little poultry farm is a good place to hang out. Even the chickens are letting them join them in the yard. 🙂
